The Team
Windle Hair Salon London

Mia Efthymiou

Born and raised in North London, Mia started early in the hairdressing game as a Saturday shampoo girl in her mother’s Hoxton salon.  After extensive training at the London College of Fashion, she went on to join one of London's leading salons in 1990.

It was not long before the bright lights of the über-cool catwalks were calling, and they led Mia into session styling. Working on hair teams for designers such as Julian MacDonald, Margaret Howell and Hussein Chalyan, she has been able to express her art with immense creativity.  Session styling still forms part of her current portfolio of work and she regularly assists in British Fashion Week.

By 1993, Mia began spreading the artistic word by teaching session styling at the London College of Fashion. She gained great satisfaction by working with young stylists who had a passion to learn, and this in turn enabled her to expand their creativity.  In 1994, Mia was snapped up by Windle Salon, where she now continues this mentoring and nurturing role in the training she gives to Windle’s junior staff.  Her knowledge and wisdom make her an invaluable member of the team.

Mia trained in New York as a Bumble and Bumble educator and went on to deliver an extensive B&B training programme, traveling the length and breadth of the UK and Eire.  This led on to her delivering Windle Inspiration seminars for editorial and session work and she now takes the lead in training for the WAM brand, a highly innovative range of hairdressing tools - www.wamhair.com

No two weeks are ever the same for Mia – she’s a real all rounder.  That said, Mia’s absolute passion is one to one client work; putting people at ease, listening to their needs, introducing them to new hairdressing ideas and ensuring they leave her with a cut that really suits them and their lifestyles.  As one longstanding client says of her - “I used to be really hairdresser phobic until Mia was recommended to me over ten years ago.  Now I always end a session with her feeling and looking like a million dollars!”
